President Donald Trump and Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth opened up about the impact Operation Midnight Hammer had not just on Iran's nuclear capabilities but also on the entire world.

Speaking from a White House cabinet meeting, Trump and Hegseth reflected on the military strikes that the president authorized on several Iranian nuclear facilities, with the secretary of defense saying it "reestablished deterrents" around the world.

"Truly a historic mission," Hegseth explained. "And it demonstrated the skill and courage of the United States military. From those B-2 pilots to the families whom we got a chance to meet. To the fighter pilots. To the refuelers, to the maintainers, to the air defenders who defended the base. What was demonstrated on the world stage was American military might and capability."

"It wasn't just on Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz that took notice in Iran, it was the rest of the world," he added. "That we have a decisive Commander in Chief willing to use these capabilities, which are the best in the world… no one else could've done what America did there on that night."

"And everyone took notice of that," Hegseth continued, pointing to the passage of the One Big Beautiful Bill (OBBB), which allocated money to create the Golden Dome defense system for the US.

The secretary also said it has been a month with "another historic recruiting bump" across all parts of our military.

"It's not just the Army and Marine Corps anymore," Hegseth said. "It's the Navy, Air Force, and Space Force, all historically ahead of where they've ever been. But that mission Operation Midnight Hammer reestablished deterrents. It reversed what happened in Afghanistan. You saw the debacle of what [former President Joe] Biden allowed to happen in Afghanistan, what that did to our image."

"President Trump said with Operation Midnight Hammer reestablishing leadership and deterrents, and we are proud to be a part of it, Sir," he concluded.

Trump reflected on what he labeled the "perfect military performance" in Iran, offering a glimpse into what happened behind the scenes.

"Those machines flew for 37 straight hours," the president said. "They didn't stop. They went skedaddle. Do you know the word skedaddle? It means skedaddle. They dropped the bombs, and somebody said skedaddle. 'Let's get the hell out of here.' And every bomb hit its mark and hit it incredibly."

"And as you know, the Atomic Energy Commission said it's gone," he added. "That place is gone. We had a lot of fake reporting, mostly from CNN."

"But they [CNN] came up with the concept that maybe the attack wasn't that good," Trump continued, noting that he likes to watch CNN because "you learn from the enemy, because you have to know where they are coming from."

The president talked about being in the situation room during the military operation and being told, "They have entered Iranian airspace."

"And everyone took a deep breath," Trump said. "Because they had more missiles pointed at them. But the equipment is so good, stealth way up in the air… by the time they found out they were there, they were already gone."

As RedState reported, the latest intelligence from both Iran and Israel proves that President Trump was right about the airstrikes obliterating the Iranians' nuclear facilities, and CNN, which reported otherwise, is wrong.

On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the White House and surprised President Trump with a letter formally nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts toward peace in the Middle East, as RedState's Jennifer Oliver O'Connell reported.
