NextImg:'He's An Idiot': New Yorkers Asked About Mamdani, and Their Answers Speak Volumes

New Yorkers on the street were asked about radical Muslim socialist Zohran Mamdani's recent victory in the state's Democratic primary race and his agenda. The answers they gave should scare the hell out of all Democrats.

Speaking on Wednesday to Fox News' "The Faulkner Focus," ordinary people in the city were interviewed about Mamdani, and it was clear that not one of them plans to vote for the candidate when he faces off in November against former Democratic New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and incumbent NY Mayor Eric Adams.

"I just think Mamdani would be terrible for the city," one man said. "It would implode the city."

Another man replied, "I don't support him. I think he's too radical."

One man said he was "not a fan. Government-run grocery stores, that's ridiculous. That's what they do in communist countries. I'm hoping for a miracle, someone else, Eric Adams, or someone wins."

Another added simply, "He's an idiot."

While a fifth person responded, "That's not what we want for New York, do we?"

One lady had quite possibly the smartest response when she took Mamdani down for his communist agenda.

"He thinks he's gonna give everything free," she said. "Where's the money gonna come from?

AOC Parades Her New Bestie Mamdani Around Washington, DC As the DNC Keeps Their Distance

I am unsure what the likelihood is that the Fox News crew only spoke to people who were against Mamdani, but their answers should provide some kind of warning to Democrats that not everyone in their party supports the radical agenda coming from the likes of Mamdani, NY Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and more.

My colleague Becky Noble reported on how AOC has embraced Mamdani despite his obvious communist agenda, even parading him on Wednesday around Washington, D.C.

AOC said that she is eager for her colleagues to meet Mamdani "face to face," and "hear what he has to say about making New York affordable for working people."

As much as AOC has accepted him, there are moderates still in the party who are staying as far away from him as possible during his little field trip to the nation's capital.

However, leaders of the party, such as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY), recognize that Mamdani's candidacy is a problem that gets even bigger if he wins. Neither has endorsed Mamdani, but both claim meetings are scheduled. Rep. Tom Suozzi (D-NY) is one of the few New York City-area Democrats who has been a vocal critic of Mamdani.

Veteran Democrat strategist James Carville has also tried to sound the alarm to the Democratic party, labeling Mamdani's primary victory a "potentially damaging event," RedState reported.

Zohran Mamdani is an avowed Democratic Socialist and has a real chance to become the next mayor of New York City.
