Looks like everything may not be happy in leftist land.
We reported on the savage article about Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) from The Atlantic. Savage, because they let out enough truth to see how cringeworthy she is.
They tried to reach out to her colleagues and that allegedly didn't make her happy. She said she was "shutting down the profile" and revoking permissions. She also thought she should have been the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee because she had the largest social media following. Funny, that didn't get her the job.
But there's more. According to The Atlantic, Crockett skewered her fellow leftists Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) during a meeting with Rep. Maxine Dexter (D-OR) when they were considering the Oversight position.
During the meeting, Dexter probed Crockett about her relationship with Democratic leadership, noting that Ocasio-Cortez bumped heads with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) when she burst onto the scene in 2019.
Downplaying Dexter’s concerns, Crockett claimed that she wanted to be viewed as working on behalf of the Democratic Party and was not looking to “burn it down.”
Crockett, 44, went on to describe the Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez rallies as “a good idea,” but a tour that primarily served the interests of the two lawmakers, and not the Democratic Party.
The rallies “kind of makes people be like, Oh, it’s about them, right? Instead of the team,” Crockett said.
Bernie and AOC were pulling in a lot of donations with the tour, which is ironic as well as a bit hypocritical, given it's the "Fighting Oligarchy" tour. AOC received $9.6 million in campaign contributions during the first quarter of the year, and Bernie pulled in $11.5 million.
While I think what Crockett said is true, it's also humorous coming from her since she seems to do what she can to get her face in front of the media. It's funny that she threw AOC and Bernie under the bus to try to help her chances of getting a position, if this is true. This probably also wouldn't make the leftist base happy with Crockett.
I wonder if she might view AOC as a competitor for higher office, although Crockett told The Atlantic that she has a "positive relationship" with AOC. And the idea that any party would so elevate either one shows you how at a loss they are.
In any event, you have to love leftist infighting, especially when they're already in such chaos as a party. Can they implode even more? Can the Democrats sink lower than 19 percent approval?
