As we've reported, President Donald Trump's federalization of law enforcement in Washington, D.C. has caused Democrats and their mainstream media comrades to melt down.

Though the numbers from the first week show the effort to make our nation's capital safe again, thanks to a combination of local law enforcement officers and National Guard members, has been a success so far, the wailing and gnashing of teeth continues, with The Usual Suspects maintaining that crime is not that bad in D.C. though the reality on the ground paints a far different picture.

On Wednesday, Vice President JD Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller visited the National Guard as they patrolled city streets, treating them to Shake Shack for lunch and dunking on the "stupid white hippie" protesters, some of whom were trailing them, without breaking a sweat.

On Thursday, however, things got even more interesting when Trump himself announced that he would be joining the National Guard and the Met PD for some street patrolling on Thursday night:

President Trump said he plans to go out on patrol with the Metropolitan Police Department and National Guard troops around Washington, D.C., on Thursday night amid a federal crackdown on crime.

“I’m going to be going out tonight, I think, with the police and with the military, of course. So we’re going to do a job,” Trump told conservative radio host Todd Starnes on his show. “The National Guard is great. They’ve done a fantastic job.”

Though Trump joining TANG and the D.C. police will undoubtedly give the Secret Service nightmares, considering the two 2024 assassination attempts on Trump and the ones that were recently thwarted, this is one area where he excels to a significant extent, connecting with people one on one out on the streets and demonstrating to voters across the country his committment to following through on his promise to make America great again.

Leftists and the corporate press aren't going to like it, but seeing their meltdowns is going to be part of the fun.
