White House What's Up
President Donald Trump's schedule has changed up a bit, following Israel's strike on Iran. He's now set to attend a National Security Council meeting at 11:00 AM Eastern. He's made several comments on the situation since the strikes got underway, including this one via Truth Social:
I gave Iran chance after chance to make a deal. I told them, in the strongest of words, to “just do it,” but no matter how hard they tried, no matter how close they got, they just couldn’t get it done. I told them it would be much worse than anything they know, anticipated, or were told, that the United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the World, BY FAR, and that Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come - And they know how to use it. Certain Iranian hardliner’s spoke bravely, but they didn’t know what was about to happen. They are all DEAD now, and it will only get worse! There has already been great death and destruction, but there is still time to make this slaughter, with the next already planned attacks being even more brutal, come to an end. Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire. No more death, no more destruction, JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. God Bless You All!

Sec. State - Marco Rubio — Rubio issued a statement shortly after the strike was launched Thursday evening:

Thursday was biiii-zeee at the courts. We had six new decisions handed down from the Supreme Court (most of them unanimous or 8-1) — promise, the Skinny on SCOTUS installments will be out soon.
Then, we had Judge Charles Breyer issue a temporary restraining order in Newsom v. Trump (regarding Trump's federalization of the National Guard), only to have the 9th Circuit issue an administrative stay.

Expect there to be more doozy court rulings coming out today and over the weekend. We'll be keeping an eye out for them, of course.
Speaking of keeping an eye out — all eyes will be on the big 250th birthday celebration for the Army in D.C. on Saturday (to go along with Flag Day and Trump's 79th birthday). Well, that and all the "No Kings" events planned. Something tells me Saturday is going to be...eventful.
I'm not exactly sure who thought up the whole "No Kings" theme for Saturday's nationwide theatrical productions protests, but, for me, it calls to mind 1 Samuel 8, and, in particular, this verse: But when they said, “Give us a king to lead us,” this displeased Samuel; so he prayed to the Lord."
I suppose the notion is that somehow Trump has set himself up as King — aside from the fact that he was elected twice (at least), is working with Congress to pass legislation, and is heeding court rulings (though appealing them). The Left appears to have confused "implementing a political agenda I don't like" with "fascism!"
As I mused on X yesterday —
Dear Left: We don't want a king. We want a duly elected president, with set terms, who, during his term, is able to carry out the agenda he ran on and we elected him to implement.
So, they say, "No Kings," I say, "Cut the crap and let him do his job."
