Did Biden Kick the FBI on His Way Out — or Did Someone Else Have the Pen?
No, this decision was one of political convenience for a departing president without regard for those who risk their lives protecting every American — including Joe Biden himself.

Gun Club Sends Letter to Hegseth Over Ft. Deven's Shenanigans
The truth, though, is that Hegseth could deal with this with a simple phone call or two. Either they get their stuff in gear, or they seek employment opportunities in the fast-food industry.

We haven't stopped laughing at the 'chef's kiss' post from Vance all night.
Today on Capitol Hill...
No meetings or hearings set on the Hill today, as it's Friday. GOP leaders and the Senate are still focused on getting the reconciliation bill finalized and passed, the dustup between Elon Musk and President Donald Trump notwithstanding.
White House What's Up
There may...or may not...be a conversation between President Trump and Musk at some point on Friday. For his part, Trump will be signing executive orders early in the afternoon. After that, he'll participate in a swearing-in ceremony for Secretary of the Navy John Phelan. After that, he'll head to Bedminster, New Jersey, for the weekend.
While remaining largely quiet on the fraying of the Trump-Musk relationship, Vice President JD Vance was present in the Oval Office when Trump addressed the issue with reporters on Thursday. Later, he tweeted his support for the president.

I sometimes forget to take my own advice and (to borrow a popular phrase) go touch grass. Certainly, I'm better at that in the summer, particularly on weekends. But there's no question that a huge portion of my time and attention is spent focused right here, on this laptop, where I'm typing this out now. Comes with the job and territory, I suppose, as does following along with the events of each day on X. But it can lead to a rather constricted view of the world.
Yesterday was a doozy, for sure, watching two proud, powerful men, who've worked closely (and productively) for months, have a major falling out. It was simultaneously fascinating and frustrating. But looking at the various posts this morning commemorating D-Day and Allied forces storming the beaches at Normandy, I'm reminded that the world is bigger than this, and history didn't begin a decade ago.
And, more importantly, there is a Sovereign who holds it all in His hands.
I couldn't love this more if I tried.
