Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi provided her latest entry into the Gaslighting Olympics with a post on X criticizing President Trump for deploying the National Guard to Washington, D.C.
Pelosi (D-CA) responded to news today that the President took action to clean up crime in the liberal cesspool capital by injecting criticism of his handling of the mostly peaceful protest on January 6th.
"Donald Trump delayed deploying the National Guard on January 6th when our Capitol was under violent attack and lives were at stake," she wrote. "Now, he’s activating the DC Guard to distract from his incompetent mishandling of tariffs, health care, education and immigration — just to name a few blunders."
Speaking of blunders, Pelosi paid the price by immediately getting nuked into oblivion by Steven Sund, the chief of the Capitol Police at the time of the J6 incident.
"Ma’am, it is long past time to be honest with the American people," he replied. "On January 3, I requested National Guard assistance, but your Sergeant at Arms denied it."
After citing further instances of his requesting National Guard backup on January 6th, followed by further denials, Sund leveled Pelosi with a jab on how she and Democrats put the Capitol on lockdown for months on end ... but only after the protesters could tour the Capitol.
"When I needed assistance, it was denied. Yet when it suited you, you ordered fencing topped with concertina wire and surrounded the Capitol with thousands of armed National Guard troops," he fired back.

As has been documented on these very pages, Pelosi, it has been well-established, declined the assistance of the National Guard offered by President Trump at the time of the J6 protest. Perhaps she forgets that she's on tape discussing the matter with her daughter.
In a video documentary being filmed by her daughter, Pelosi readily admits she "totally failed" and the National Guard should have been called in earlier as the unrest was beginning to reach a boiling point.
“I take responsibility," she states in another clip.
Officials from the first Trump administration insisted that the president had made a preemptive authorization for the Guard to be on standby. Sund also says he made similar requests. In his book “Courage Under Fire,” Sund claimed that he had asked the National Guard to be placed on standby days before the Capitol protest.
He was allegedly rejected by the House Sergeants at Arms, who reported to Pelosi and the Senate Sergeant at Arms, who reported to Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
NPR disclosed just five days after the chaos at the Capitol that Sund had “requested assistance six times ahead of and during the attack.”
Sund claims he made 11 urgent calls that day requesting support, but was rejected by the House Sergeant at Arms for 71 full minutes.
FBI Director Kash Patel, in a statement given to RedState last May, claimed Pelosi and Muriel Bowser (D), mayor of the District of Columbia, had a role in the initial refusal to deploy Guard troops.
“This deliberate slow-rolling portrays a clear intent to gut the president’s preemptive authorization of the National Guard days prior, which had then been declined by Speaker Pelosi and Mayor Bowser,” he said.
It's unclear why Pelosi thought she could simply rewrite reality again regarding the January 6th protest. One would imagine lying comes to her as easily as breathing or drinking red wine.
