You think you understand the war between Israel and Hamas, but I can safely assure you that after watching Dinesh D'Souza's latest film, you probably don't.
The Dragon's Prophecy, a film based on a book of the same name by Jonathan Cahn, is probably one of the most important movies you'll see this year, but understand something about the film first. It's heavy and will probably be the most weighty film you see this year, but it needs to be seen, and by everyone.
It's important to understand that The Dragon's Prophecy isn't just a film about the war between Israel and Hamas. That's definitely how it begins, with footage taken directly from Hamas as they attacked the people of Israel.
But soon, D'Souza makes it clear that this isn't about a singular attack that led to a war. This is about Biblical prophecy, and the war in question is far more ancient. This isn't just between two tribes in the Middle East. First and foremost, this is a war between God and Lucifer, and Hamas is just a part of it.
D'Souza points out that the atrocities that were committed on October 7, 2023, by Hamas are by no means anything new. In fact, what happened that day had happened long ago during the time of David. In fact, as D'Souza reveals through the experts he interviews, Palestine is just the modern name for Israel's ancient enemies, the Philistines.
That's just scratching the surface.
D'Souza heads to Israel to visit survivors of the October 7 attack to get their first-hand witness accounts on what happened that day to highlight the brutality of Israel's enemies, and shows you how the only Democracy in the Middle East has every right to defend itself, and wage war to protect the land, not just because it's an established sovereign nation, but because it historically belongs to the Jewish people, it brings peace to all those within its borders, and because prophecy has mandates it.
Biblical prophecy is featured center stage in The Dragon's Prophecy, and through striking commentary and visuals paints you a much larger picture than the one you typically see on the news or internet feeds. Through experts like Eric Metaxas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, author Jonathan Cahn, and expert historians, D'Souza shows you that the attack on October 7 was foretold long ago.
I had the pleasure of getting to watch an early screening of this, and personally, it was hard to look away. D'Souza shows you, sometimes without filter, exactly how awful the Hamas attack was, but it brilliantly sets the stakes for you. This is a war between good and evil, and he displays the depths of what that evil looks like. He allows Israeli survivors to tell you their personal stories to really drive the point home. He walks through the memorial for those who were murdered or taken that day, and it seems to stretch on forever.
This weight stays with you through the film as D'Souza not only shows you the war on the ground, but he also fascinates you with how the war is grounded in history, and that history proves that the greater war between God and Satan is very real and is being fought right now, with control of you as the ultimate goal.
The film is in select theaters on Monday and Wednesday, and I can't recommend you see it enough. If you can't make it into the theater, you can also stream it on SalemNow on October 9. You can also go to TheDragonsProphecyFilm.com for more information.
You will come out of this with not just a deeper understanding of Israel and the enemies it faces, but of history, God, and the war you are a part of, whether you like it or not.
Do not pass this film up.
