The Democrat Party woke up to some alarming news Thursday as a new poll from Emerson College shows the New Jersey governor's race in a dead heat. Recent polls had Democrat Mikie Sherrill with a nearly double-digit lead over Republican Jack Ciattarelli, but Emerson has the two candidates tied with 43 percent apiece and 14 percent undecided or voting for someone else.
Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling, said the poll "reveals a tightly contested race in the Garden State.” He added some context to the results, noting, "Young voters, under 40, break for Sherrill by large margins, 58% to 24%. The race tightens to seven points among voters in their 40s, with Sherrill leading 47% to 40%, then Ciattarelli flips the script among voters over 50, leading Sherrill 52% to 36% among this group."
The massive shift towards Ciattarelli could be down to a series of ads being run by the businessman that highlight Sherrill's inability to articulate her legislative priorities. Try not to cringe when you watch this Kamala Harris-esque botch:
Oof.
Then there's the issue of the massive amount of wealth Sherrill has accumulated during her time in Congress (she has represented New Jersey's 11th congressional district since 2019). According to one report, "In her 2019 financial disclosures, Sherrill reported assets totaling between $733,209 and $4,321,000. By 2024, those figures had ballooned to between $4,840,076 and $13,975,000."

These immense gains seemed to have started rolling in during COVID. Sherrill, a member of the House Armed Services Committee who had information about the unfolding pandemic that was not available to the public, made hundreds of lucrative trades as lockdowns began. Cha-ching. Oh, and she's married to a top official at global financial services company UBS.
Somewhere, Nancy Pelosi is looking on with immense pride at the breathtaking corruption.
President Trump, who endorsed Ciattarelli back in February, took to Truth Social with his reaction to the Emerson poll.
Wow!!! A just out poll has Jack Ciattarelli essentially beating close to incompetent Mike Sherrill in the race for Governor of New Jersey. Jack is tough on crime and cutting taxes, two things that people really demand today. He will be a GREAT Governor, and Sherrill wants Open Borders (again!), men playing in Women’s Sports, Transgender for everyone, and all of the things that almost DESTROYED America. She is a big supporter of the perhaps future Communist Mayor of New York City! We need Jack in New Jersey!!! President DJT
New Jersey will be holding early in-person voting from Saturday, October 25, 2025 – Sunday, November 2, 2025. Election Day is November 4, 2025.
