It's hard to imagine that anyone who has been a close observer of politics for any length of time has seen anything like the current state of the Democrat Party. They have no leaders, no message that resonates with the American people, and their platform seems to consist of one item: hating Donald Trump. And what's worse, they seem to have no desire to go back and figure out what went wrong for them in 2024. They are in a toxic stew of their own making. Average Americans who might still call themselves Democrats are panicking and seeking solace in rather humorous places.
Enter...the ragin' Cajun himself, former Clinton strategist James Carville. He doesn't seem to do much else these days but sit in front of a computer screen all day railing on Republicans. However, as is the trend in 2025, he does have a podcast, along with fellow Democratic relic Al Hunt, called the "Politics War Room." However, right now, it might be more like a group therapy session for depressed Democrats. During Thursday's podcast, Carville read a message from a listener that hilariously (for us) read,
“For the love of God, tell Kamala Harris not to run for president again. I’m terrified that party people will vote for her because that’s what party people do.”

As utterly humorous a scenario as it is, it is people like Carville who are being pressed into duty as the team psychiatrist. And that's exactly what he did. "Dr." Carville's assessment:
“Don’t be terrified. And I think that she wisely chose not to run for governor of California. And I believe this with all my heart. Anybody that had anything to do with 2024, the party wants to move on from that … And this goes to [Democrat Minnesota Gov. Tim] Walz, too. I wouldn’t run again … if I were your friend, if I will be your chief advisor — I’m doing this not from a personal standpoint … the Democrats are not going to look to anybody that had anything to do with the 2024 campaign.”
It was here that Al Hunt joined in and clarified that "anybody" involved with 2024 also includes Joe Biden. Hunt offered up his own bit of unsolicited advice, but no doubt said out loud what most Democrat voters are thinking, saying,
“I completely agree and I would add one thing. Joe Biden, would you please go and take the restful retirement you so richly reserve? And don’t speak out. People really don’t want to hear your views now. And when I read the story the other day that some of the people close to him are going to try to seek some kind of vengeance against the Nancy Pelosis. Get over it. Get over it. Just, you know, stay in Rehoboth and enjoy your grandchildren.”

That's a whole lot of fear in one listener, and there have to be plenty more out there like him who, like Carville said, want Harris, Tim Walz, and the rest of the 2024 buffoons to disappear into irrelevance. Are those responsible for 2024 going to go quietly? The quick answer is no. Kamala Harris's book detailing her disastrous campaign, "107 Days," comes out in September. Al Hunt is going to be disappointed as well, as Joe Biden has no plans to go anywhere either, and plans on "writing" a book about his time in the White House, but does not have a publication date. No word on who will actually write the book.
At 80 years old, James Carville may have stumbled into a second career as the Democrat party's resident counselor. At the rate things are going for them, he will have a lot of job security. You can hear Carville advising the Democrats at the 1:19:19 mark.
