As RedState previously reported, there was a violent crime in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 3rd, in Washington, D.C. involving a woman who was allegedly being carjacked by a group of teens.

Edward Coristine, a 19-year-old former DOGE staffer, reportedly came to the defense of the woman, who the police report described as his "significant other." Photos taken in the aftermath showed Coristine, also nicknamed "Big Balls," looking bloody and battered from an apparent assault.

X owner and former DOGE advisor Elon Musk tweeted about it to raise awareness, calling on D.C. to be federalized. President Donald Trump was not amused, either, and vowed to do just that in our nation's capital city, citing "out of control" crime, including rampant gang activity, homeless crime, and repeat offenders.

Because this was the equivalent of the straw that broke the camel's back for Trump on the issue of crime in D.C., the incident has come under scrutiny on social media and other sites like Reddit message boards, with random posters - some of whom appear to be afflicted with severe TDS - suggesting what is said to have happened that night was not nearly as dire or consequential as it has been made out to be.

For the record, here is information on the case that was shared by the Metropolitan Police Department:

On Sunday, August 3, 2025, at approximately 3:00 a.m., the suspects approached the victims, who were standing next to their vehicle, in the 1400 block of Swann Street, Northwest. The suspects demanded the victim’s vehicle and then assaulted one of the victims. During the assault, an MPD cruiser pulled into the block causing the suspects to flee. Two of the suspects were apprehended by the on-scene officers. One of the victims was treated on scene by DC Fire and EMS for injuries sustained in the assault.

A 15-year-old juvenile male and a 15-year-old juvenile female, of Hyattsville, MD, were arrested and charged with Unarmed Carjacking.

While what random keyboard warriors say about any given topic isn't really important in the scheme of things, what prominent public figures and their allies have to say about it is, which brings us to the following statement made several days after the assault by Sawyer Hackett, a Democrat strategist who counts himself as an alum of the Obama administration, the failed 2016 presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, and failed 2020 Democrat presidential candidate and former Congressman Julián Castro (D-TX) among others.

Considering all we learned in the aftermath of the "border patrol agents whip Haitian migrants" smear campaign, which indeed took root among Democrats on up to then-President Joe Biden, thanks in part to this guy, Hackett doesn't let a little thing like inconvenient facts get in the way of a good ol' fashioned fake narrative.

But what his remarks further demonstrate is the continued masculinity deficit among Democratic men, something we all saw amid the debate over Daniel Penny's actions. 

I mean, think about it: If the police report is accurate, and I have no reason to believe it's not, Coristine did what most guys probably would do in a similar situation. He stood up for what's right and defended his girlfriend.

And yet he gets mocked for it? Called an "incel"?

For the record (and, again, going by what the MPD has said), there were multiple alleged assailants. The two that were arrested were teens, not "pre-teens."

Also, it doesn't matter one bit if someone who is assaulting you is "unarmed." If you and/or someone you love is under threat of attack, you act accordingly.

According to the social justice community, masculinity is both undesirable and too dangerous, but according to the thousands and thousands of years of natural programming the human race has experienced, dangerous is exactly what women want. They want a man who isn’t afraid to get dirty, assert himself, and do harm when the need arises.

SJWs have gone to great lengths in order to phase out masculinity, but despite their best efforts of cultural reprogramming, they cannot defeat the natural order of things.

Relatedly, let's pause for a moment and reflect on not just what Hackett's statement says about Democrats, but what far more powerful Democrats like Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) pushing back on Trump's attempts at making D.C. safer say about them:
