In New Hampshire, a 46-year-old man - a school teacher, no less - has been arrested for attempted child trafficking.
Of a 12-year-old. Fortunately the 12-year-old was an agent from the Department of Homeland Security.
The school district where this... person worked was quick to act following the arrest.
Now, while one might wonder why Mr. Lancaster was not fired outright, we should note that, like any American citizen, he is entitled to the presumption of innocence and due process. He is facing some serious charges but has not been convicted, and so administrative leave, while it seems unsatisfying, is appropriate - for now.

That's a lot to digest, but if Stacey Lancaster is convicted on these charges, he should not only never be allowed anywhere near a school again, but should be looking at some serious prison time - and child abusers have a notoriously thin time of it in prison, being on the absolute bottom of the pecking order.

The left in this country seems to love background checks when it comes to gun purchases, but this case - if the charges prove warranted and a conviction is obtained - would seem to make a good argument for background checks for teachers.
There's another factor, and I will admit this is pure speculation, but people like this rarely exist in a vacuum. In cases like this there are all too often people who come forward after the fact claiming that there was something hinky about the perp in question; granted, hindsight is always 20-20, but it makes one wonder if that may be the case here.
The accused, Stacey Lancaster, appeared in federal court on Monday and is now awaiting trial "at his mother's house."
