


The campus of the United States Naval Academy (USNA) is on lockdown Thursday evening as law enforcement officials investigate reports that a gunman has shot three people. One report indicates that a midshipman who had been kicked out of the school returned to the campus and is going door to door pretending to be with the military police.

Video from the scene is making its way onto social media.
U.S. Naval Academy and Naval Support Activity Annapolis are on lockdown following reports of a threat against the installation, a Navy official confirmed to USNI News.“Naval Support Activity Annapolis, in coordination with local law enforcement, is currently responding to reports of threats made to the Naval Academy,” reads a statement from a Naval Academy spokesperson.
USNA officials released a statement saying, "The base is on lockdown out of an abundance of caution. This is a developing situation, and we will provide updates as they become available."
Local media is reporting there are at least three victims, with one having been med-flighted out for treatment.
Maryland Governor Wes Moore has reportedly said there is "no active threat" on the campus.
