On Monday evening the House Committee on Oversight and Government Accountability announced that “committee staff conducted a transcribed interview with a former FBI supervisory special agent assigned to the FBI’s Wilmington office and the Biden criminal investigation” earlier in the day, and that that witness had “confirmed key portions of the IRS whistleblowers’ testimony” in the matter.

As seen in the transcripts of committee staff interviews with the two IRS whistleblowers, who apparently worked with the former FBI supervisory special agent who was interviewed Monday, witnesses are advised that giving false testimony to committee staff is a crime prior to the commencement of the interview.

Committee Chairman Rep. James Comer (R-KY) issued the following statement:

“Today, a former FBI supervisory special agent assigned to the FBI’s Wilmington office and the Biden criminal investigation confirmed key portions of the IRS whistleblower’s testimony. The night before the interview of Hunter Biden, both Secret Service headquarters and the Biden transition team were tipped off about the planned interview. On the day of the Hunter Biden interview, federal agents were told to stand by and could not approach Hunter Biden—they had to wait for his call. As a result of the change in plans, IRS and FBI criminal investigators never got to interview Hunter Biden as part of the investigation.

“The Justice Department’s efforts to cover up for the Bidens reveals a two-tiered system of justice that sickens the American people. The Oversight Committee, along with the Judiciary Committee and Ways and Means Committee, will continue to seek the answers, transparency, and accountability that the American people demand and deserve.”

Key points of this witness’ testimony, according to the Committee:

Hunter Biden’s attorneys and Biden apologists have attempted to smear the IRS whistleblowers and claim they’re lying. Having testimony essentially under penalty of perjury from a supervisory agent from another agency who has first-hand knowledge of what happened in this investigation and what how it deviated from normal procedure is a very big deal. Hopefully the full transcript of this interview will be released, and we will be able to read all of the details this witness provided.

The IRS whistleblowers are scheduled to testify before Congress on Wednesday.
