Donald Trump appeared in a Manhattan courtroom Tuesday afternoon to be arraigned on charges of falsifying business records, and pleaded not guilty.

A Manhattan grand jury returned a true bill of indictment last week, which was sealed until Tuesday’s arraignment proceedings. Trump flew to New York from Florida on Monday, and surrendered to law enforcement authorities Tuesday afternoon to be arrested and processed before being hauled before Judge Juan Merchan to have the charges read and to enter a plea. According to reports from inside the courtroom (video cameras were not allowed), the indictment contained 34 charges of falsifying business records related to “hush money” paid to Stormy Daniels.
