Border Patrol Chief Speaks on McAllen Attacker 'Finding Out,' Tears Into Dems After Attempted Ambush

As RedState reported, Border Patrol agents in McAllen, Texas, were targeted Monday in one of several violent attacks that have taken place against immigration enforcement agents in recent weeks amid the heightened inflammatory rhetoric about President Trump's immigration policies and federal agencies coming from Democrats.
The attempted ambush happened at the city's Border Patrol sector annex. A statement from DHS confirmed that "an individual opened fire" but was "neutralized" by local law enforcement and Border Patrol agents. They also noted that two McAllen police officers and an employee with the Border Patrol sustained injuries that required a visit to the hospital.
The now-deceased suspect was identified as 27-year-old Ryan Louis Mosqueda, who reportedly was armed with an assault rifle and had "many, many more rounds of ammunition in his backpack" than the dozens he was said to have fired, according to McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez.

Based on the information we've learned so far, Mosqueda meant to do maximum damage, and according to the DOJ, another attempted ambush, this time at an ICE detention center in Alvarado, Texas, on July 4th and where a police officer was shot in the neck, was allegedly part of a larger plot by ten suspects to murder a lot of agents.
Not surprisingly, the head of the Border Patrol, Chief Mike Banks, has had a lot to say about what happened. In an interview earlier on Fox News, Banks first spoke of how quickly Mosqueda "found out" how well-trained his officers are before ripping into Democrats for using language about the Border Patrol, ICE agents, and DHS that he says have inspired left-wing agitators to commit violence:
Host Will Cain: Why don't we start with the climate, not just for those working at ICE, but those working at Border Patrol or in law enforcement at large? What's the climate around your job?
Border Patrol Chief Mike Banks: So the climate's just the heightened sense of awareness. You know, we're professional law enforcement officers, we're one of the best-trained law enforcement agencies in the country. And when someone like the individual [who] created the attack on the Border Patrol, he found out very quickly that the Border Patrol is very well trained. We were able to end that threat.
Talking about what you were saying earlier, Will, the fact that the elected leaders in the Democratic Party are using words like 'kidnapping' and 'Gestapo tactics' - this is exactly what led that individual to try to commit the violence he did, and their constituent wound up dead. And so, they're not just putting us in danger, but they're putting their citizens in danger by using all these lies and this rhetoric. It's like up is down, and left is right now.

In another interview, Banks talked about how those who incite violence against law enforcement also should be held to account in a court of law:
It's unclear here if he was talking about Democrat members of Congress like Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) and others, but it would be interesting (and understandable) if so.
Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
