At this point, you have to think that the Biden team is truly running scared.
Former Biden Deputy Chief of Staff Annie Tomasini was subpoenaed to testify before the House Oversight Committee. On Friday, she invoked the Fifth Amendment and refused to answer questions.
She's the third Biden staffer who has invoked the Fifth when called to testify before the House Oversight Committee about allegations of a cover-up of Joe Biden's cognitive decline. The other two were Dr. Kevin O'Connor, Biden's White House physician, and Anthony Bernal, senior adviser to Jill Biden.

House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) wasn't holding back as he excoriated this "pattern."
The third witness in our investigation into the cover-up of President Biden’s cognitive decline and unauthorized executive actions pleaded the Fifth Amendment today. There is now a pattern of key Biden confidants seeking to shield themselves from criminal liability for this potential conspiracy.
Annie Tomasini, former Assistant to the President and Deputy Director of Oval Office Operations, pleaded the Fifth when asked if Joe Biden, a member of his family, or anyone at the White House instructed her to lie regarding his health at any time. She also pleaded the Fifth when asked if she ever advised President Biden on the handling of classified documents found in his garage, if President Biden or anyone in the White House instructed her to conceal or destroy classified material found at President Biden’s home or office, and if she ever conspired with anyone in the White House to hide information regarding the Biden family’s ‘business’ dealings.
It’s unbelievable that Ms. Tomasini and others refuse to answer basic questions about President Biden’s fitness to serve. It’s apparent they would rather hide key information to protect themselves and Joe Biden than be truthful with the American people about this historic scandal. There needs to be transparency and accountability, and we will continue to pursue the truth and examine options to get the answers we need.
At this point, it's disgraceful. They think they are under no obligation to be straight with us. What are they hiding?
Comer also indicated that they weren't ruling out calling others, including Joe Biden. As my colleague Teri Christoph reported, Comer also said he thought they should call Jill Biden and Kamala Harris. If they also invoke the Fifth, that will reinforce how little they think of their obligations to the American people and our right to transparency.
As we reported, there's a concurrent investigation by the White House, which is coordinating with the DOJ, looking into the autopen scandal.
