Howard Stern, a one-time shock jock who quickly transformed into a COVID paranoid, elderly man in the neighborhood yelling at kids to get off his lawn, will reportedly see his long-running show on SiriusXM canceled.
Well, sort of.
Sources cited by The U.S. Sun and other outlets claim SiriusXM, where he was a staple since bringing "The Howard Stern Show" there in 2006, is unlikely to renew the deal at Stern’s expected salary when his latest five-year contract runs out.
"Sirius and Stern are never going to meet on the money he is going to want. It's no longer worth the investment," an insider told the Sun. "But as far as him coming back to doing the show, there's no way they can keep paying his salary."
Some would argue Stern was never worth the absurd investment satellite radio made in him, but that became more evident in recent years with declining listenership due in part to the host alienating over half of his fan base by embracing far-left politicians and ideologies.

Howard Stern's decline was accelerated by COVID, in which he fully embraced failed left-wing draconian measures to take control of the population and mocked anyone who didn't go along with the tyrannical.
Stern became a shell of himself during this period, morphing from a shock jock into somebody who a real shock jock would quickly make fun of.
During a 2022 broadcast, he nearly choked on his Centrum Silver in disbelief that mask mandates were coming to an end.
“You’ve got all these wackos with their anti-mask, anti-vaccine, the reason they’ve lifted these mask mandates is because we gave in to this small minority of people who are completely out of their f***ing mind who think masks are some sort of prison sentence and their freedoms are being taken away,” he railed at the time.
“It used to be nice to have a two-party system. Now it’s wackos versus, you know, Democrats. The wacko party,” Stern continued. “And still to this day, and I hate to say it, only 65 percent of Americans are fully vaccinated, and I can’t help but think the wackos are winning.”
It's hard to believe President Trump or any self-respecting Republican recovered from the super-edgy "wacko" insult, but somehow, they soldiered on.
Stern would also suggest anybody who did not take the COVID vaccine should be denied access to hospitals, stating, "You're going to go home and die."
In an ironic twist, Stern went home and watched his career die. The shockless jock spent years hunkered down in his apartment, afraid to go out in public due to the pandemic. The one time he did brave the new world, he complained that it "was too much" for him.
The staunch vaccine advocate would later, much as many other septuple vaccinated rubes did, contract COVID.
Stern, long before that, had already turned into a TDS-addled loser, a shell of himself as a man on the radio. In a 2020 broadcast, he embarked on an expletive-fueled rant against Trump supporters, claiming the President hates them just about as much as he does.
“The people who are voting for Trump for the most part … he wouldn’t even let them in a f****** hotel. He’d be disgusted by them," claimed Stern.
After suggesting the proof of his claims lies in the fact that “people who look like you,” the average Trump supporter, do not get invites to Mar-a-Lago, Stern explained that it's those very people he actually hates the most.
“I don’t hate Donald,” Stern said. “I hate you for voting for him, for not having intelligence. I hate you. I don’t want you here. I want to build a wall and throw you the f*** out.”
Not exactly a way to endear yourself to well over half the audience, since I gather most Republicans are closer to the shock jock level of entertainment once delivered by Stern than the soy-loving "White Dudes for Harris."
There is a glimmer of hope for those who still listen to Howard. One insider told the Daily Mail that Stern is in “very serious negotiations” and may consider a one- or two-year contract if financial terms are met.
He thinks he's still worth the money. About the only thing "wacko" is the notion that Stern still feels he’s a relevant source of entertainment when, in fact, he’s a fossil in the industry.
Good riddance.
