The onslaught continues for Democrat Jay Jones, who, until recently, was the favorite to be the next Attorney General of Virginia, with the latest blow coming from the state's Fraternal Order of Police.
As RedState reported, text messages showing Jones fantasizing about murdering his political opponents, including their children, leaked. After the respondent objected, he then allegedly called her to argue his case. Those revelations have erupted into a scandal that is shaking up the Virginia race.

Things have continued to escalate from there. On Monday, Delegate Carrie Coyner (R), whom Jones sent the texts to, further alleged that he also wished death on police officers during their follow-up phone call.
In response, the Virginia Fraternal Order of Police came out swinging, calling Jones' words "unacceptable" while proclaiming he's "not fit for office." The statement goes on to demand he "withdraw from the Attorney General race immediately."
Wishing that police officers would die to soothe faux political concerns seems like an issue for a guy who wants to be the chief law enforcement officer in the state. I'm fairly certain that the relationship would be strained from the start if Jones were to win. That's not to say his comments about the police are worse than, you know, wanting the children of his political opponents to die, but they hit home in a very practical way, given he's running to be attorney general.
At this point, if Virginians don't shun this guy, they deserve what they get. Jones has proven himself to be the lowest of the low when it comes to political figures. From his scamming a court to use a community service sentence to promote his own campaign to his support for "transitioning" children against the wishes of parents, to the grotesque words revealed in the last week, he is not fit for office.
With that said, because Jones is clearly a scumbag, you expect him to be a scumbag. What's truly telling about this episode is that every single major Democrat has lined up behind him, with most deflecting to Donald Trump, who is not running for any office in Virginia. There apparently is no bottom for the left, and that reality is being laid bare for everyone to see. Again, I sincerely hope Virginians vote accordingly.
