Unintentional comedic theater. With a healthy dose of Trump Derangement thrown in — just to make it even more hilarious.
Such was the case on Monday, when thoroughly disgraced former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo —who's running for New York City mayor as an independent — showed up on ABC’s reliably ridiculous "The View," and promptly proceeded to tell the lady geniuses that President Donald Trump wants Democrat (read: Marxist) candidate Zohran Mamdani to become the city's next mayor in November.
Even better, Cuomo waxed idiotic (although not completely) about why Trump wants Mamdani to win.
Let's just jump into the silliness. Here's Cuomo:
[Trump] wants Mamdani. Two reasons. One, going into the [2026] midterms, he will take a picture of Mamdani, run around the country, and say 'Here's what happened to the Democrats. They are now communists; they hate the police; they'll legalize prostitution; legalize drugs; they want to elect a Democrat with no experience whatsoever; and being mayor of New York will be his first real job.'
Stop the tape.
Um, should we tell him?
Listen up, Gov: Whether or not Trump — or any other Republican — says "all of the above" about Mamdani, will be immaterial. Why? Because Mamdani himself has said most of it — and worse.
So Trump aside, Mamdani's candidacy has been the best thing to happen to the Republican Party since hollow vessel Kamala Harris and her loony sidekick and vice presidential running mate Tim Walz assured Trump a decisive win last November.

Cuomo continued:
Second, it's good for Donald Trump, because it's the excuse he needs to take over New York — which he's said he will do. He said, 'If they elect this person, then I, Donald Trump, will step in and take over New York to protect the good people of New York.
Of course, Trump said nothing of the kind. What he has done is threaten to slash funding to the city if Mamdani wins.
Mamdani's campaign was quick to refute Cuomo's comments on "The View," saying Cuomo wants to “roll out the red carpet” for Trump. In a statement to ABC News, the campaign said:
Donald Trump and his billionaire donors have made it crystal clear that Andrew Cuomo is their choice candidate for mayor.
When Trump sent the National Guard to Los Angeles, Cuomo told New Yorkers not to overreact – and when Trump began deporting our neighbors, Cuomo called him for political advice.
New Yorkers know that while Andrew Cuomo would simply roll out the red carpet for Trump, Zohran will be a mayor who fights relentlessly to protect us against Trump’s authoritarianism and deliver a more affordable city.
Hmm. "To protect us against Trump's authoritarianism."
What has Trump done so far to demonstrate so-called "authoritarianism," my Democrat friends? And if you believe that basically a full-blown Marxist is going to "deliver a more affordable" New York City to anyone, I suggest you put down the crack pipe.
In reality, given Mamdani's probable win, the Big Apple is going to see massive wealth redistribution on a scale not yet seen in an American city, if he gets his way.
Anyway, Cuomo pretty much laid out a perfect strategy for the Republicans heading into 2026.
Mamdani would take office in January 2026, giving the GOP a full 10 months to not only expose Mamdani as exactly what he is, but also, Trump and the Republicans would likely remind voters, ad nauseam, about which Democrats running for reelection to Congress in 2026 wholeheartedly endorsed the Marxist.
