Regardless of political disagreements, sometimes one must give credit where due, which we've seen to some extent after news broke last Wednesday, when President Trump announced that Israel and Hamas had signed off on the first phase of a peace plan that, among other things, would bring home the remaining surviving hostages.
"This means that ALL of the Hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw their Troops to an agreed upon line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace," he wrote on his Truth Social page at the time.
It was news that even twice-failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton praised, putting aside her TDS for a few minutes to note that "I really commend President Trump and his administration," adding "Let’s now support this process and bring it together, not just in a nonpartisan way in our own country, but literally internationally as a great global commitment to try to bring peace, security, stability and a better future to the Middle East."

When former Vice President Kamala Harris was asked the question over the weekend about whether Trump deserved credit, she gave a word-salady answer through gritted teeth, never mentioning Trump directly and instead saying, "I commend the people who have been a part of this process. I commend the Qataris, the Egyptians, and the president."
The context of her answer, however, included not-so-veiled criticisms of Israel. "I really do hope it becomes real, and that the hostages are out, that Gaza is no longer being treated with such brutality of force, that aid goes in," Harris also proclaimed.
MSNBC's "The Weekend" host Eugene Daniels trotted out the "genocide" question to the failed 2024 Democrat presidential nominee, asking her if she believed what happened in Gaza could be described in such a way.
Her answer was astonishing for someone rumored to be considering a 2028 run for president, especially considering it sounded like it came straight out of the far-left propaganda handbook, and what was about to take place - including the fact that Trump was en route overseas at the time to take part in some of the ceremonies:
"I think that, listen, it is a term of law that a court will decide. But I will tell you that when you look at the number of children that have been killed, the number of innocent civilians that have been killed, the refusal to give aid and support, we should all step back and ask this question and be honest about it, yeah."

It was, as others also pointed out, a timely reminder of the catastrophe this country dodged when it rejected her campaign for president:
Also left unsaid in the "interview" was how Hamas would likely treat other Jewish people, like Harris' husband, Doug Emhoff. Not to mention what they would likely do to someone like Daniels, who is gay.
I don't think it's even arguable that if Harris had been elected president that none of this would be happening - and wouldn't for the entirety of her presidency.
The right leader is in the right place at the right time, and that is something everyone should be grateful for, especially on historic days like this one.
