NextImg:Alligator Alcatraz Goes National? Kristi Noem Pushes for Florida-Style Detention Centers in Other States.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has announced that an alligator and python-surrounded illegal immigrant detention center called Alligator Alcatraz set in Florida's Everglades will serve as a model for state-run Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facilities in several other states.

Now, before anyone gets too excited, the design model appears to be focused on the detention centers being built at airport locations, allowing authorities to cut costs by "facilitating quick turnarounds."

As opposed to the main model factor being the presence of large reptiles.

Noem tells CBS News that additional centers are already being considered in Arizona, Nebraska, and Louisiana.

"The locations we're looking at are right by airport runways that will help give us an efficiency that we've never had before," she told the outlet, adding that "most" states she's contacted seem interested in providing facilities to help secure the border.

TAKE A CLOSER LOOK: Governor Ron DeSantis Just Blew a Gasket Over Democrats' Obsession With Alligator Alcatraz

Tour Guide Explains Just How Laughably Far Dems Went to Portray ‘Alligator Alcatraz’ As Too Hot, Inhumane

Alligator Alcatraz, located at the Dade-Collier Training and Transition Airport, is designed to house up to 3,000 detainees and is primarily funded by FEMA's shelter and services program - funding that the Biden administration used to house illegals.

On that front, Noem would like to see an adjustment, having the expansion of state-based facilities utilizing a new $45 billion funding pool for ICE prompted by President Trump's "big, beautiful bill" instead.

She wants contracts for these facilities to be limited to five-year terms.

"For me personally, the question that I've asked of every one of these contracts is, why are we signing 15-year deals?" Noem elucidated. "I have to look at our mission."

"If we're still building out and processing 100,000 detention beds 15 years from now, then we didn't do our job."

That seems unlikely to be a problem even a few years from now - unless Democrats win back the House, the Senate, and the White House and reopen the borders.

Noem's push for more Alligator Alcatraz-like detention centers appears to be at the behest of President Trump, who, in touring the facility last month, indicated he'd like to see a similar setup in "many states."

The DHS Secretary went on to explain that deterrence is a significant factor in building these facilities, prompting illegal immigrants to self-deport rather than have to go through highly secure processing centers.

"They see the laws being enforced in the United States," she communicated to CBS. "They know when they are here illegally, and if they are detained, they'll be removed. They see that they may never get the chance to come back to America. And they're voluntarily coming home."

Having facilities across several states will allow Democrat lawmakers to pull off ridiculous stunts on a more frequent basis in trying to convince the American people that these criminals are being mistreated. Stunts such as using an infrared thermometer to try to assess the temperature in the facility, then promptly pointing it at a light bulb to artificially inflate the readings.

Look out, libs, a similar facility in Arizona might be hot too. Louisiana might have some copperhead snakes and alligators close by. And Nebraska, well, the illegals might have to eat corn instead of cold ham sandwiches. The horror!

Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left's lies, new legislation wasn't needed to secure our border, just a new president.
