Last week we went to Valdez, a place we had not yet visited. There’s a lot of land to cover in Alaska, and a lot of places to see; we’re just starting out. We want to see Chicken, drive over to Dawson City in the Yukon, and up to Circle. We want to drive the Denali Highway and the road north out of Fairbanks, across the Yukon, maybe even to Prudhoe Bay. We want to see Kotzebue, Nome, and Dillingham – maybe the Aleutians.
There’s probably more than a lifetime’s worth of places to visit in the Great Land, but we’ll do our best. So keep watching, because I’ll be reporting on those adventures right here.
Now, on to the weekly lineup: Well, now this is a dumb crook. We might note that at first he was just dumb; the crook part came later.
On 10/04/2025 at approximately 1030hrs, the Alaska State Troopers received a walk-in by the name of Raheim Rashid. Raheim requested the Troopers to arrest him for no crime and left after Troopers refused to do so. Shortly after, Rashid returned back to the Trooper Post. Raheim entered the lobby and urinated on the floor then pulled the fire alarm setting it off. Raheim was placed under arrest and remanded at the Fairbanks Correctional Facility and held on a $500.00 cash bail.
Well, if at first you don’t succeed, pee on the floor and pull the fire alarm. Then you’ll get your three hots and a cot in the Crowbar Hotel. If that’s what you’re looking for, anyway.
Alaska Man score: 1 moose nugget, but only because Rashid brought a chuckle through his sheer stupidity.
By way of contrast: Here’s a heartwarming tale. Last spring, we brought you the story of Alaska’s own Paxson Schultz, who was badly injured when a tree fell on him, causing severe head injuries. At the time, there was some question as to whether young Paxson would survive, but he did.

At that time, we noted that young Paxson was recovering, wheelchair-bound but learning to walk again. Now, the update: He’s not only recovering, he’s back in Alaska, and taking part in his school’s jog-a-thon.
Paxson spent around five months in Chicago, where he received intensive therapy. He returned home to Alaska for a short period of time before going back to Chicago again in January 2025 to receive further treatment.
This August, Paxson returned to school part-time. It’s a moment his mom never thought she would see.
Friday, Paxson once again proved his strength by completing four laps in his school’s jog-a-thon to help raise money for school items.
In simple words, Paxson told Alaska’s News Source that it made him feel “happy” and it felt “good’ to participate alongside his classmates.
“It feels great to see him enjoying life again, getting to do the things, you know, some of the things that he used to do,” Schultz said.
Moving forward, Schultz said that Paxson will continue undergoing therapy.
I will say what I said then: Paxson, today, all of Alaska is proud of you. You have shown the kind of courage, grit, and determination that so typifies Alaska, which has made the Great Land and its people what they are.
Alaska Man score: There aren’t enough moose nuggets in the world.

Now, let’s have a look at that trip to Valdez and the beautiful Richardson Highway.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
