While the Democrats pretend that the Los Angeles anti-ICE riots are comprised mostly of moms and pops out for a little “peaceful protest” with their kids, LA County Sheriff Robert Luna says his officers are regularly getting hit with rocks, pyrotechnics and Molotov cocktails.
Almost a dozen have been injured. Apparently, exercising your First Amendment rights means hurling projectiles at law enforcement.
He said the weaponry they're encountering was "interesting":
Luna said 10 deputies were injured after protesters hurled rocks, Molotov cocktails and "high-grade pyrotechnics" at them.
"We have been encountering some interesting weapons out there," Luna said. "[There is a] big difference between the peaceful protesters and the individuals who are coming out with weapons to attack our folks."
Of course, California Democrats made this situation all but inevitable as they (along with former President Joe Biden) laid out the welcome mat for illegal aliens, routinely prioritized them over their own Golden State citizens, and regularly spat in the face of federal law enforcement:

The riots are for a “good cause,” the sheriff said, although almost 80 million people used their votes in November to say the opposite. Luna just doesn’t like the violence:
"It's a good cause, but we do not want violent agitators out there destroying property or committing acts of violence specifically against our police officers, deputy sheriffs and CHP [California Highway Patrol] officers," Luna said. "I just want to remind everybody that our deputies have and continue to face a dangerous situation out there."
Outside agitators will be dealt with harshly, he claimed.
"If you come to our city with the intent to commit crimes, damage property or harm others, including our officers, you will be arrested," he added. "We will not allow violence, vandalism or threats to public safety to undermine the rights of those who are demonstrating lawfully. We're asking everyone who plans to participate in Saturday's event to do so peacefully and respectfully."
In the past I would have laughed at such claims, because when notoriously soft-on-crime, George Soros-backed district attorney George Gascón was in office, he went out of his way to excuse criminals and let them off easy. Thankfully, Tinsletown voters finally woke up to the nightmare Gascón created and elected Nathan Hochman to replace him, and so far has been saying the right things:
Alongside Sheriff Robert Luna and LAPD Chief Jim McDonnell, Hochman announced felony charges against multiple suspects for attacking officers, looting, and vandalizing, with more arrests and possible federal charges to come. Officers have faced Molotov cocktails, fireworks, and even mortars in recent days. As Hochman made clear: “There’s a tremendous amount of video out there... we’re coming for you.”
The “peaceful protests” narrative has once again been shown to be a fabrication, and the downtown of the second most populous city in the nation is basically a no-go zone every night (unless you’re carrying an “EXPLETIVE ICE” sign).
When even the woke Robert Luna is saying it’s a problem, you know there’s some serious violence occurring in the City of Angels, and the Democrats along with their friends in the corrupt mainstream media complex are lying once again.
