NBCUniversal executive Linda Yaccarino will serve as the next Twitter CEO, Elon Musk announced Friday morning.
“I am excited to welcome Linda Yaccarino as the new CEO of Twitter!” Tesla billionaire Musk, the social media platform’s owner, tweeted. She’ll “focus primarily on business operations, while I focus on product design & new technology.”
Yaccarino, who Musk said will start the job in about six weeks, will take the post at the embroiled social media site after more than a decade at NBCUniversal, where she served as chair of global advertising and partnerships at the company.
“Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app,” Musk wrote. He added in a previous tweet, “My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops.”
