The Secret Service has recommended that the Trump campaign begins holding rallies indoors following the assassination attempt on the former president.

Reports have stated that the Trump campaign has said the plan going forward is to hold indoor events for safety reasons.

NBC also reported that the 45th president may still appear at smaller outdoor rallies, but they will be held in venues such as stadiums where entrances can be tightly controlled.

On July 13th, Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire at a Trump rally in Pennsylvania, killing one and injuring others, including the former president.

The campaign’s next two events are slated to be held in a multipurpose arena in Charlotte, North Carolina, and at a hockey arena in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

This comes the day the director of the Secret Service, Kimberly Cheatle, announced her resignation.

“I take full responsibility for the security lapse,” Cheatle wrote in her resignation letter to staff. “In light of recent events, it is with a heavy heart that I have made the difficult decision to step down as your director.”
