The United States Little League team from Lake Mary, Florida has won the Little League World Series Championship Game. 

Players from the Lake Mary, Florida team were seen hugging their opponents from the Chinese Taipei team who were distraught following the defeat.

In extra innings, with the score tied 1-1, Lake Mary bunted, causing the first baseman for Chinese Taipei to charge the ball and leave the bag.

However, once the pitcher fielded the bunt he misplayed it and threw the ball to first base, with nobody there, causing it to go into the outfield.

Florida’s Lathan Norton was able to score easily from second base. 

The victory extended the United States’ winning streak to six straight titles in the famous summer tournament. It was the first championship for a Florida team as well as the first for the suburban Orlando team.

According to the Associated Press, teams from Taiwan have won 17 titles from 1969 through 1996. However, a team from the country had only made one other appearance in 2009 before Sunday.
