UPDATE 12:25 PM:  Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the president of Brazil, has released a statement where he said it “appears” that all 62 souls aboard Flight 2283, headed to Guarulhos, Brazil, are dead.

The airline company, Voepass, has yet to confirm why the plane crashed or how many individuals are deceased.

“VOEPASS used all means to support those involved. There is still no confirmation of how the accident occurred or the current situation of the people on board,” Airline Voepass said in a statement on Friday. 

A passenger plane carrying 62 individuals crashed on Friday in Brazil.

According to the country’s civil defense officials, the plane also hit multiple houses located in the outskirts of São Paulo, Brazil.

The plane was operated by the airline Voepass Linhas Area.

It was en route from Cascavel, in the state of Parana, to Guarulhos, in Sao Paulo.

There is currently no word on the number of known casualties. However, videos of the plane drop and crash on X (Twitter) look as if survival was not very likely.
