President Joe Biden has reportedly called President-elect Donald Trump, his previous political opponent, in order to congratulate him on winning the 2024 presidential election.

Biden paid respect to Trump on Wednesday, applauding him on his performance and win on Tuesday night.

Additionally, on the phone call, Biden invited Trump to the White House to discuss the transition between their two administrations.

White House officials noted that staffers would be coordinating an official date “in the near future” for Trump to return to the White House to meet with the current Commander-in-Chief.

Incoming reports also stated that Biden spoke with Vice President Kamala Harris to congratulate her on the campaign she ran, even though it fell short.

Biden is set to address the nation on Thursday.
