Missouri

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported 12 deaths from tornadoes and storms that caused widespread damage in parts of the state.

Mississippi

Officials said that six people died in Southern Mississippi. The state experienced a dozen tornadoes over 48 hours, including one with a 70-mile-long track.

Oklahoma

Dry vegetation and fierce storm winds fueled wildfires that swept through Oklahoma. Across the state, nearly 300 homes and other structures were destroyed, Gov. Kevin Stitt said at a news conference on Saturday.

Severe winds also produced dust storms in Texas that led to three dozen car crashes in the region around Lubbock and Amarillo, killing at least four people. Emergency crews in Texas were also battling multiple blazes across the state.
