NextImg:Heidi Gardner and More ‘SNL’ Cast Members Exit Show Ahead of Season 51

“Saturday Night Live” announced on Tuesday that five new cast members would be added for its upcoming season: Tommy Brennan, Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson and Veronika Slowikowska.

At least four cast members from last season are leaving the NBC sketch show: Heidi Gardner, a veteran of eight seasons; Michael Longfellow; Emil Wakim; and Devon Walker.

“Saturday Night Live” returns for Season 51 on Oct. 4.

One of the incoming performers will already be familiar to fans of the show. Marshall has been on the writing staff for “S.N.L.” since 2021 and has appeared on the show as part of the comedy trio Please Don’t Destroy. Marshall and another of the newcomers, Patterson, will appear alongside Teyana Taylor and Zach Cherry in the upcoming Kevin Hart movie “72 Hours” on Netflix. Patterson, a standup comic, is also a regular on Tony Hinchcliffe’s comedy podcast “Kill Tony.”

Slowikowska has appeared in Shane Gillis’s Netflix workplace comedy “Tires” and the FX horror mockumentary series “What We Do in the Shadows.”

Brennan, a standup comic, was selected as a New Face of Comedy at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in Montreal in 2023 and has performed on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

And Culhane is a regular on Dropout, a comedy streaming service. He has also performed with the Upright Citizens Brigade in Los Angeles. Culhane and Slowikowska have each racked up tens of millions of views on TikTok, with some posts having gone viral.
