If the timing of this year’s Critics Choice Awards strikes you as odd, you’re right: Most major awards shows are held on Sunday evenings. But after two postponements because of the Los Angeles wildfires, the ceremony finally came to rest on a Friday in early February.

Despite the rescheduling, the main details have held firm: Chelsea Handler will host the event as planned from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif., with many of the year’s biggest stars of film and television expected to attend. But, in what may be a sign of the organizers’ downsized ambitions for the show, a planned two-hour special of red carpet coverage before the ceremony was scrapped with the latest rescheduling.

Not to fear — The New York Times has all the must-see looks from stars and presenters at the 30th annual Critics Choice Awards.
