Not much fazes Whoopi Goldberg after 16 years of moderating The View — including production flubs.
On this morning’s episode of the hit daytime talk show, the longtime co-host had little reaction when producers played the wrong clip during the opening Hot Topics segment.
After settling into her chair to the catchy theme song and welcoming the audience to The View, Goldberg — who reiterated that the show is on its fifth week of no writing staff due to the ongoing WGA strike — explained that she was out late the night before watching Grace Jones.
“She was going up and down stairs while singing and doing the hula-hoop. She is extraordinary. It was so amazing,” she said of the 75-year-old model. “This is why I look like I do this morning. “
Getting back to the regularly-scheduled programming, Goldberg went on to introduce the panel’s first Hot Topics segment about none other than former President Donald Trump.
“You remember the Town Hall when you-know-who said this?” she began as she gave the cue to play the clip from Trump’s CNN Town Hall last month.
However, a video from an MSNBC segment came up instead, leaving Joy Behar to ask, “What’s he doing?” and Sunny Hostin to point out, “That was the wrong clip, we need another clip.”

When the camera returned to a zoned-out Goldberg’s face, she stared blankly for a moment before furrowing her eyebrows in confusion.
“So you thought you would shock me, didn’t you?” she quipped to a mystery person off-camera — likely, their executive producer Brian Teta, who recently forced her to walk back her claims that American Idol was the “downfall of society.”
Perhaps it was her late-night outing that was to blame for the moderator’s delay!
Eventually, Hostin was given the go for the right clip, which showed Trump telling moderator Kaitlan Collins whether or not he had shown anyone the classified documents that were found at his Mar-a-Lago residence.
“Not really,” he vaguely answered. “I would have the right to. By the way, they were declassified after I [took them].”
With some of the ladies rolling their eyes and the others giggling over the absurdity of the clip, the rest of the episode was, fortunately, able to forge on error-free.
The View airs on weekdays at 11/10c on ABC.
