The Jets have time to figure out who will be their starting quarterback for the season finale in New England next weekend, but it sure sounds as if Trevor Siemian will be starting again.
Zach Wilson remains in the concussion protocol after suffering a concussion on Dec. 17 in Miami.
The thought has been he would play if healthy, but Saleh did not say that was definite when asked that question Friday.
“We’ll see where he’s at,” Saleh said. “He will definitely be part of the discussion. We just need to get him healthy first.”
Siemian has started the last two games with Wilson out.
He is the fourth quarterback to start this season.
Siemian led the Jets to a win against the Commanders but lost in his second start Thursday in Cleveland.

Siemian was 32 of 45 passing for 261 yards with one touchdown and one interception, which the Browns returned for a touchdown.
“I thought Trevor did a really nice job,” Saleh said. “That’s a tough defense to go against and I thought we moved the ball well, obviously he’d want that interception he threw back. Good scheme design from Cleveland in that regard, but overall, thought he did a nice job.”
RB Dalvin Cook played zero snaps Thursday despite being active.
This season has not gone as expected after Cook signed a one-year, $7 million deal with the Jets in August.
Cook has 67 rushes for 214 yards and now the Jets have benched him to give rookie Israel Abanikanda a bigger role.
“Dalvin has been great. I know this has been a hard season for him,” Saleh said. “It’s been a hard season for all of us. I appreciate the heck out of his professionalism and the way he goes about his business and who he is around the building. The support he gives his teammates the support he gives the running back room. The way he’s been working with Izzy, knowing that he is going to get more reps, but it’s hard, I could only imagine. I haven’t played professional football, but being around it, you know when a player is hurting and I know he’s hurting, but his story is not over. He still has plenty of juice in his legs, but he’s been great.”
With 12 penalties Thursday, the Jets have the most penalties in the NFL at 123.
“There’s a lot of things that we got to look at because a lot of the things that are happening are pre-snap, which is which is an alarming thing,” Saleh said. “We’ve got to find answers to it. You’ve got misalignments, you got offside, delay of games, you’ve got just a lot of things happening pre-snap that starts with us as coaches. Whether it’s our wording, our verbiage, our pace in and out of the huddle, our attention to detail, obviously it starts with us.”
