YouTube has banned and terminated two channels related to former family vlogger Ruby Franke following her recent arrest on child abuse charges.

“We can confirm that we have terminated two channels linked to Ruby Franke in accordance with our creator responsibility guidelines,” a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement provided to Page Six.

The statement did not specify the names of the channels that were removed.

Under this ban, Franke will no longer be allowed to create or use any YouTube channels. Other channels that attempt to upload content from her deleted channels will also be removed and terminated by the platform.

She and her business partner, Jodi Hildebrandt, were arrested on Aug. 30 on two counts of child abuse after Franke’s 12-year-old son, who was described in documents as malnourished and in “severe” condition, escaped from Hildebrandt’s home in Utah and sought help from a neighbor.

According to a press release from the Santa Clara-Ivins Public Safety Department, the child that fled Franke’s home “appeared to be emaciated and malnourished, with open wounds and duct tape around the extremities.” Franke’s 10-year-old daughter was also found at the residence in “similar physical condition of malnourishment.”

Franke’s four minor children were taken from the residence by the local Department of Child and Family Services.

Franke was arrested on two charges of aggravated child abuse at the time but she and Hildebrandt are now facing six counts of child abuse.

Prior to her arrest, Franke was a well-known family vlogger who once ran the popular YouTube channel 8 Passengers, which had approximately 2.5 million followers at its peak. Though she has since closed that channel, Franke and Hildebrandt instead collaborated on an Instagram video series called Moms_for_truth that offered controversial parenting advice.

A statement from the county attorney details the accusations made against the business partners: “There are two juvenile victims in these cases, and each defendant is accused of causing or permitting serious physical injury to the victims in three different ways: (1) a combination of multiple physical injuries or torture, (2) starvation or malnutrition that jeopardizes life, and (3) causing severe emotional harm.”

In a statement shared on Instagram, two of Franke’s sisters shared that the family “kept quiet… for the sake of her children” but they had “done everything we could to try and make sure the kids were safe.”

Franke and Hildebrandt are both expected to appear in court on Friday (Sept. 8).
