PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. — Neither Fat Perez nor Grant Horvat are a part of the Players Championship field this week at TPC Sawgrass. But the two did have afternoon tee times on the famed Stadium Course on Wednesday afternoon, on the eve of Thursday’s opening round of The Players. 

Perez and Horvat are two of the most highly viewed players in the YouTube golf space and were participants in the Creator Classic — an exhibition put on by the PGA Tour featuring some of the most popular influencers in the sport. 

On a weekly basis, Horvat and Perez (whose real name is Nick Stubbe) attract more eyeballs on their YouTube channels than some PGA Tour events. Horvat has about 800,000 followers on Instagram, and Perez more than 500,000. 

Their audience is very much comprised of golfers who are new to the game.
