A youth coordination officer was pummeled and spit on by an 18-year-old student inside a Brooklyn high school Tuesday afternoon, police and law enforcement sources said.

The student pushed one officer as police spoke to him around 2 p.m. at Brooklyn Academy High School, and then as authorities tried to detain him, the teenager lashed out — spitting, punching and kicking another officer multiple times, police said.

The incident happened inside a Brooklyn school building.

The student was arrested after more officers reached the scene, cops said.

The officer who was punched was taken to Methodist Hospital for minor injuries, police and sources said. She suffered cuts and bruises to her face, according to sources.

When more officers reached the school, another student, 17, threw water on an officer, police said. That younger student was also taken into custody.

Brooklyn Academy High School shares a building with a charter school at 832 Marcy Avenue.

YCO units, which are armed police officers, began under former mayor Bill de Blasio. The initiative was started to curtail youth crimes across the Big Apple.

The NYPD beefed up its presence at city schools near the start of 2023 after a string of violent episodes near campuses.
