Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan loves his music, so naturally before Season 5 concluded, he had to welcome another band to perform live on the Dutton ranch.
Yellowstone‘s Season 5 premiere memorably featured country band Shane Smith & The Saints, a Sheridan fave. And Season 5, Episode 13 saw performances by Oklahoma band the Turnpike Troubadours, whose music has already appeared in the series several times before.
In Season 5’s penultimate episode, “Give The World Away,” Beth (Kelly Reilly), Rip (Cole Hauser), and Kayce (Luke Grimes) held a big auction at the ranch with help from Travis (Sheridan). Their hope was to raise enough money to buy themselves time to come up with a better plan to save the land, so they went all out with food and live music, which is where Turnpike Troubadours came into play.
Want to know more about Turnpike Troubadours, the latest band to perform on Yellowstone? Curious which songs were performed live during Yellowstone Season 5, Episode 13? Or want to stream more Turnpike Troubadours after the episode ends?
Here’s what to know about the Taylor Sheridan-approved country band.

The Turnpike Troubadours are a country band from Tahlequah, Oklahoma that was founded back in 2005 by lead singer/guitarist Evan Felker and bassist R.C. Edwards. Now with six members, the band includes Felker, Edwards, Kyle Nix, Ryan Engleman, Gabriel Pearson, and Hank Early.
Per their Spotify bio, “At their best, the gritty, country-leaning roots rock band out of eastern Oklahoma, Turnpike Troubadours, synthesize the populist, political folk of Woody Guthrie and the outlaw-styled honky tonk of Waylon Jennings with doses of bluegrass, Cajun, and straight-out rock dynamics.” The Turnpike Troubadours had 1,425,182 monthly Spotify listeners ahead of their Yellowstone Season 5 appearance, so they’re certainly well-known by country music fans! They’ve toured, collaborated with other popular artists, made the country charts, and even had other songs featured in Yellowstone and Landman.

Yellowstone Season 2, Episode 1 featured Turnpike Troubadours’ cover of John Hartford’s “Long Hot Summer Day” and Season 3, Episode 3 featured “The Mercury.”
If you’re interested in seeing a live performance, the band’s website notes that they’re performing in Fort Worth, Texas on December 12 and 13 and will be performing in Texas, Tennessee, and Oklahoma in 2025.
