ARLINGTON, Texas — The Yankees’ bullpen carousel took another spin on Tuesday.

In addition to sending Jake Bird to Triple-A, the Yankees designated JT Brubaker for assignment and called up Yerry de los Santos, along with activating Mark Leiter Jr. from the injured list.

It had not been 15 days since de los Santos was optioned to Triple-A (on Friday), but the Yankees were able to skirt that rule because outfielder Austin Slater landed on the injured list Tuesday with a left hamstring strain.

Players can be called up before the 15 days if they are replacing an injured player on the roster.

The Yankees also activated Aaron Judge off the injured list, as expected.

Brubaker, a former starter that the Yankees had been using as a reliever, owned a 3.38 ERA across 12 games and 16 innings.

He offered some length, but not nearly as much as he did when he first joined the team in June, coming back from a rehab assignment in which he was still starting games.

De los Santos has pitched well across 17 games this season, posting a 1.78 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 25 ⅓ innings.

He last pitched on Thursday, when he tossed three perfect innings in relief to help the Yankees take three of four from the Rays.
