The trade acquisitions arrived and Marcus Stroman exited.
The Yankees released the veteran righty on Friday while welcoming David Bednar, Jake Bird, Camilo Doval and Jose Caballero to the roster before the series opener against the Marlins in Miami.
Stroman’s release comes in the middle of the second season of a two-year, $37 million deal he signed prior to the 2023 season.
He had an $18 million player option for 2024 that required 140 innings pitched in 2025, but he had only tallied 39 innings this season.
Stroman, 34, went 13-11 with a 4.69 ERA spanning 38 starts and one relief appearance across his two years in The Bronx.
He posted a 3-2 record with a 6.23 ERA in nine starts this season.
He made his last start Thursday in the 7-4 triumph over the Rays, allowing four runs in five innings.
Stroman’s exit comes as the Yankees prepare to welcome Luis Gil back to the rotation.
