TORONTO — Austin Wells was out of the lineup for the third time in four games Monday, but it was not because of his slumping bat.

The Yankees catcher underwent a battery of tests on Sunday and Monday after having circulation issues in his left index finger.

Those tests have come back with good news, manager Aaron Boone said, as the Yankees wanted to do their due diligence since the last time they had a catcher dealing with circulation issues in his finger it was Ben Rortvedt, who was eventually discovered to have an aneurysm near his left shoulder in spring of 2023.

Wells appears to be in the clear of anything that serious, but he will be unavailable at least until Wednesday because of the testing he had during Sunday’s game that involved going through arteries in his groin.
