After not getting the call when rosters expanded, The Martian has landed in The Bronx.
The Yankees called up top prospect Jasson Dominguez ahead of Monday’s game against the Royals.
Infielder Jon Berti has also been reinstated, while DJ LeMahieu has been placed on the 10-day IL retroactive to Friday with a right hip impingement. The Yankees aldo DFA’d lefty Anthony Misiewicz.
Dominguez, 21, did not get called up when rosters grew to 28 players at the start of the month, with the Yankees preferring to stick with Alex Verdugo in left field.
But the Yankees have now decided to bring up Dominguez, who is hitting .309 with an .848 OPS in 44 games for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season.
Dominguez hit four home runs in eight games in the majors last season.
The Yankees (82-61) entered Monday a half-game up on the Orioles for the AL East lead.
