TORONTO — Pay no attention to the Yankees’ pathetic 5-8 season record against the Blue Jays. Or even their ridiculous 11 errors in seven games here at the practically perfect Rogers Centre. 

This place is picturesque, their play was ugly. 

Sure, that all counted. But that was eons ago in baseball time. The Yankees were a totally different club back then, before they realigned their infield, tightened their defense and discovered rookie right-hander Cam Schlittler can play Superman.

The Yankees were so bad one series up here even preternaturally positive manager Aaron Boone admitted they were terrible. But the Yankees rallied late and the AL East combatants wound up tying at 94-68 over six months and 162 games, with Toronto winning the extra home game this series because of how awful the Yankees performed during the 13 games they matched up.
