The Yankees are adding another veteran coach to Aaron Boone’s staff.

The club is expected to hire Pat Roessler as an assistant hitting coach, The Post confirmed on Saturday, filling out the staff under new hitting coach James Rowson.

NJ Advance Media first reported Roessler’s return to New York.

Roessler, who will join Casey Dykes as assistants under Rowson, was the Mets’ hitting coach in 2018 and their assistant hitting coach from 2015-17.

He previously served as the Yankees’ director of player development from 2005-2014, where he crossed paths with Rowson when Rowson was the club’s minor league hitting coordinator.

Roessler, 64, also has experience with new Yankees slugger Juan Soto, having been the Nationals’ assistant hitting coach from 2020-2023 (Soto was traded to the Padres midseason in 2022).

The hire, which is not yet official, continues to remake the Yankees’ hitting staff.

They entered last season with hitting coach Dillon Lawson and Dykes and Brad Wilkerson as assistants.

Lawson was fired at the All-Star break, as the offense struggled mightily, and was replaced by Sean Casey for the rest of the season.

Casey opted not to return in 2024 citing family reasons, leading the Yankees to hire Rowson as their new hitting coach in November.
