Wyndham Clark sealed his first career major win at the 2023 U.S. Open with a kiss.
The American golfer had a sweet celebration with girlfriend Alicia after his winning putt on the 18th green at the Los Angeles Country Club on Sunday.
An emotional Clark was seen in the midst of a dramatic kiss with Alicia before they posed with the sterling silver trophy.
The couple continued the celebrations afterward with friends and drank red wine, according to Clark’s Instagram Story, which included a photo of them toasting his victory.
Alicia was announced as Clark’s girlfriend on the NBC broadcast.
It’s unclear when or how the pair got together.
The fairly private couple was last pictured on Clark’s Instagram in late 2017.
Clark climbed to 13th in the Official World Golf Ranking after his triumphant victory at the 123rd U.S. Open in Los Angeles.
He edged Rory McIlroy by a single shot with a final score of 10-under 270.
Clark referenced a mantra throughout the tournament that was cited by his late mother, Lise, who died of breast cancer in 2013 while he was playing at Oklahoma State University.
“When she was sick and I was in college, she told me, ‘Hey, play big,’” Clark told reporters after his second round on Friday.
“‘Play for something bigger than yourself. You have a platform to either witness or help or be a role model for so many people.’
“I’ve taken that to heart,” he said. “When I’m out there playing, I want to do that for her. I want to show everyone the person I am and how much joy I have out there playing and hope I can inspire people to want to be like me and be better than me.”
Clark scored his first PGA Tour win at the Wells Fargo Championship in May.
