Andy Cohen is giving Lindsay Hubbard some tough love when it comes to her failed engagement with Carl Radke.
The Summer House star stopped by the Bravo Clubhouse for Thursday night’s (April 25) episode of Watch What Happens Live, where Cohen asked her if she was at all “relieved” when Radke decided to call off their wedding last August.
“Um … I think it would’ve been a really long, hard, tough road ahead in my future,” she said. “But it’s complicated. I spent all summer — I spent an entire almost year planning a wedding and grinding and organizing so much for it, so it’s a little frustrating.”
Hubbard’s co-star and BFF Gabby Prescod added that their relationship was “never gonna work” — a sentiment Cohen couldn’t help but agree with.
“It didn’t seem like it was gonna work,” he echoed. “It didn’t seem like it was working this summer. I mean, watching the show, you seem like a couple that should not have gotten married. Sorry.”
Despite the many arguments that have been documented on the currently airing season of Summer House, Hubbard explained why she wasn’t quick to give up on her relationship.
“I’m a very loyal [and] hard-working, I will try and try and try,” she said. “I was in it. I was in love with this man. He was the love of my life. We were gonna get married. He was my best friend for eight years. This was somebody — you don’t just throw it away at the flick of a hat.”
In the most recent episode of Summer House, which aired ahead of WWHL, Radke had a candid conversation with his parents about his future with Hubbard.
“You get married because of the relationship you have,” his step-father said. “But if the relationship you have you’re fearful and it’s not working the way you want it to work — getting married isn’t gonna solve that.”
He continued, “That is not indicative of a healthy relationship. I think only people who have a healthy relationship should be thinking about marriage. It’s much harder and so much more painful to end a marriage than to get it right before you get married.”
He concluded the episode by warning Radke that he could be setting himself up for “a world of pain” by going through with the wedding.
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
