WWE legend Kevin Sullivan passed away recently, the promotion announced Friday on its website.
He was 74.
The WWE did not reveal a cause of death or further details.
“A unique and influential figure in sports-entertainment history, Sullivan found success both in the ring and behind the scenes with his penchant for far out ideas that pushed creative boundaries,” the WWE said.
Sullivan was often a heel and known for his rivalries with fan favorites like Dusty Rhodes, Hulk Hogan, Barry Windham and The Road Warriors, among others.
He worked as a booker for World Championship Wrestling (WCW) after retiring from the ring.
