WrestleMania is going overseas for the first time – to Saudi Arabia.

The company announced on Friday that its signature show will be held in Saudi Arabia as part of Riyadh season for WrestleMania 43 in 2027, marking the first time it has left the United States.

It’s the second major WWE premium live event to be held in Saudi Arabia as the Royal Rumble will take place in the capital city in January.

WWE has been holding PLEs in the country since it agreed to a 10-year deal with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 2018 worth approximately $50 million per show and $100 million annually, according to Wrestlenomics. It held Night of Champions there in June.

Mark Shapiro, the COO of WWE’s parent company TKO, said at the JPMorgan Global Technology Media and Communications conference in May that TKO would expand its relationship with Saudi Arabia within the next six to 12 months.

The company announced its own boxing promotion spearheaded by UFC CEO Dana White, Saudi Arabian boxing financier Turki Alalshikh and WWE president Nick Khan in March.

It is the primary promotion for Saturday’s mega-clash between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford in Las Vegas for the undisputed super middleweight championship.

TKO will now bring its premier pro wrestling event to Saudi Arabia. WrestleMania was held at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in 2025 and is scheduled to return there next year after it pivoted from New Orleans.

The show being held in Saudi Arabia certainly opens the door for more international WrestleManias in the future.
