We all know breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and now one Australian foodie has taken her morning ritual to a whole new level, leaving thousands drooling over their screens.
Influencer Bec Hargrave took to TikTok to share her DIY Maccas breakfast hack – something she calls a ‘bacon and egg McHash brown’.
The genius of the meal comes from replacing the bread of a regular McMuffin with two hash browns, but it’s her interesting choice of sauce that has everyone talking.
So, how would one make the now-viral bacon and egg McHash brown?
Let’s get into it. We’re sure you’ll be rushing to your nearest drive-thru by the end.
Taking to TikTok from the front seat of her car, Bec says, “Last night I had a dream I went to McDonald’s and got a bacon and egg McHash brown so that’s what we’re going to do.
“Basically, you get two hash browns, one for the base, a bacon and egg McMuffin without the English muffin, and here’s where we get a little bit wild – hotcake syrup.”
Bec then drizzles a generous amount of syrup over the bacon, egg, and cheese and then sandwiches it all together with another hash brown.
“It’s a little bit messy, I will give it that,” she says, syrup dripping down her arms. She then takes a bite to see if it “lives up to her dreams”.
“Holy s**t,” she says, before taking another bite.
She concludes, “Is it healthy and would I recommend this be in your diet? No.
“Is it absolutely worth trying though? Hell yes.”
The drool-worthy clip has now racked up almost 160k views and thousands of comments.
“Game changer, I know what I’m having for breakfast tomorrow,” one user wrote.
Another viewer said, “Never thought to do a hashy with hot cake syrup but now I need to!”
“New pregnancy craving,” admitted one mum-to-be. “That’s going to be so good.”
“I think you out-Americaned the Americans with this one, ????” joked another commenter.
Someone else said it looked “like a great hangover snack.”
Then others shared their own tips.
“Order the egg and bacon separately as individual items, it will save you a few dollars. ????” someone added.
“Add a hot cake and you have a McGriddle,” advised another fan.
Then another user pointed out that it’s a great “gluten-free hack” minus the syrup.
