NextImg:Woman killed in ‘targeted’ shooting in wealthy Atlanta enclave: police

A woman was shot dead in an Uber in a wealthy Atlanta neighborhood in what police are calling a “targeted incident.”

This victim, who has not been named, was discovered in the back of a black Cadillac Escalade on Lindbergh Drive in Buckhead around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, FOX 5 reported.

Police believe the woman was targeted by multiple shooters, Channel 2 Action News said.

The bullet-riddled SUV was found near a series of apartment complexes. Officers are seeking a light-colored sedan in connection with the incident.

Located on Atlanta’s north side, Buckhead has long been the Georgia capital’s most auspicious enclave. With a median annual household income of over $100,000, the tony streets are home to high-end retail destinations and mega-celebrities including Elton John.

Earlier this year, some residents rallied to secede from Atlanta over complaints that the city’s top brass has failed to curb crime in the neighborhood.

The Buckhead cityhood push ultimately failed in the State Senate, which supporters blamed on Gov. Brian Kemp allegedly colluding to kill the movement behind closed doors.
